3. IT Grad Earns Rs 1.52 Crore a Year Growing Organic Turmeric & Ginger

Mr. Devesh Patel, son of Mr. Rameshbhai was born and bought up in a family of farmers. He always knew that farming was his true calling. He was an IT graduate, and he started expanding his farm practice in 2005 while he was still in college. He started with turmeric and ginger but later did more processing like turmeric pickle, turmeric latte, dehydrated ginger powder, chai masala, and many other things.

Now he sells over 27 products under Satva Organic, with close to 15,000 orders per month. Satva Organic exports close to six tonnes of ginger and turmeric both fresh and processed to the US and other countries in Europe. His family members also support him and the operations are handled by everyone together and also all their products sold are certified by FSSAI, India Organic, and USDA.

4. Online platform for real-time monitoring.

Recently, the government had announced the Agri Infrastructure fund of Rs.1,00,000 crore for farmers. After payment of 20,000 crores now the government has decided to review its scheme. An online platform will be used to do real-time monitoring of all the benefits done under this scheme. Monitoring will be done at District, state and national level and through which the government will provide people information regarding documentation, interest rates, the scheme details, etc. Due to lack of facilities in India, a large quantity of around 15-20% yield is wasted. One of the main reasons behind this is also less investment in agriculture in the past few years i.e.only 2%. With facilities like real-time monitoring, the government is trying to improve the present scenario.

5. Private sectors can play a major role in boosting agricultural exports said a panel in FCC

According to a panel in the fifteenth finance commission, private sectors can play an important role in boosting the agriculture sector of India. This panel included members like ITC Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Puri and Nestle India chairman and managing director Suresh Narayanan and according to their report on Friday private sector along with the Central government can boost agriculture farm exports from $40 billion to $70 billion in the upcoming few years. This plan will require an investment of around $8-10 billion for inputs, infrastructure, processing and other demand boosting measures and in turn create 7-10 million new jobs in this sector while increasing farmer income and productivity. FCC has said that they will consider these suggestions and amend its report for FY22 to FY26 before sending it to the Central government.

As well as this panel has suggested focusing on 22 crops that adds value to the international value chain. And to use Finance Commission allocation and private sector investment to support agriculture exports.

FCC will suggest a new formula for the transfer of tax revenues to states by the Central government for the next five years while currently, it is 42%.
